The past few years have been an absolute boom for people in the men’s hair industry.
More than ever men are looking to ditch their generic haircuts from chain stores and get something that actually suits them from proper barbers and stylists.
What’s great about all this is that both clients and professionals have become much more attuned to what the general trend in men’s hair is.
Now almost everybody knows what a fade is, what a taper is, what a scissor cut is, etc.
The purpose of this article isn’t to tell you to get a certain hairstyle, it’s more to give you a general overview of what’s trending in the world of men’s hairstyles in 2019, and from there you make an objective choice to decide any of the hairstyles would suit you.
Without further ado, here are my:
Top Hairstyles For Men 2019
The Classic Hairstyle
The first hairstyle I want to showcase is just a regular proper haircut you would get to look clean and proper. (It could eventually grow out to something like the bottom right).
Now why do I put this first?
Well, because many times in these kinds of lists you get these extremely extravagant perfectly lined up geometric hairstyles that really only look good on certain people, in a certain age group and usually in a certain context.
Getting a clean and proper haircut works for the majority of guys and there’s nothing wrong with that! Not every guy is made to have a fade and a perfect line up.
Before heading off into the world of crazy fades and designs, opt for a simple taper to see if it’s something that you like.
Now there seems to be a lot of misinterpretation about the difference between a taper and a fade.
A taper is a gradual increase in the number (clippers) but most importantly, a taper won’t be shaved too high up giving you the bert look that many guys suffer from.
Tapers also work with lots of hair on top, or a minimal amount.
The fade is a great hairstyle, when it works.
Fading is an art and shouldn’t be taken lightly, make sure the barber you’re going to knows how to do a fade (easy to check if they have an instagram page).
Fades look great when done properly and they suit your overall style.
Fades can be done with so many different styles, popular ones being combovers, pompadours, buzzcuts, etc.
I call this one the heartthrob because it seems to have spawned from classic pictures of Leonardo Di Caprio and has taken over the heads teen drama actors everywhere.
It’s basically a kind of grown out version of the “short on sides but long on top”.
You can really just grow your hair out and ask for the cut or get a taper, leave length on top and grow it out over several months.
