The Vans Checkerboard Sneaker is an item that I mentioned in my Summer 2016 trends article as one of my top 5 trends for S/S 16. Back then, I didn’t actually own a pair myself, I just recognized that they were quickly becoming popular. However, I wasn’t sure at the time whether or not I was on board with the trend.
Just yesterday, I found a pair in my size for only £20, this was cheap enough for me to bite the bullet. At first, I was a little unsure on how they’d work with my style. The look I see them used in the most is a FoG inspired outfit, but that isn’t really my thing, so how would I rock them?
So, I get them home, and as I do with all new pieces I get, I start to try them on with a variety of different outfits and I start to realize, they go with almost everything. I was honestly amazed at the versatility of these shoes. However, I’ve heard of people who seem to be unsure on how to rock them, therefore, I’ve included some pictures below of what I consider to be some good outfits featuring these shoes.
